Sometimes, artists just don't know what to create or write about when it comes to their art journals. This prompt will help lead you out of that frustration.
Even though there are a plethora of art journal prompts and ideas surfacing on the Internet daily, there are still those artists who have absolutely no idea what to write when the prompt reads: add text using a black fine-tipped sharpie. This art journal prompt will help lead you away from that type of artist’s block. Materials:

Writing prompts: answer some or all of these questions on the torn pieces of paper. Use very neat or very messy handwriting when writing out each answer with the ultra-fine black sharpie.
Once all the papers have been written on, glue them to the colored rectangle. Create a very random pattern, or create something that is structured. Try not to overlap the text, but you can overlap the papers. That way, everything can still be read without any problems. Variations:
Encourage children to participate in this “no rules” type of art journal prompt. That way, they can see first-hand that they can make a mess and still create an interesting art journal page spread.
