Everyone knows it is important to find peace, harmony, and serenity in everyday life. This helps ward off stress and illnesses. Art journal to find this.

Using your art journal as a tool to find peace, harmony, and serenity. This use of an art journal through this process should help you connect with what is peaceful to you in one-way or another. It could be how the work environment is set up or the theme you are working with. Here are some suggestions for setting up a peaceful work environment:

  • Light some tea light candles to create a little bit of sparkle and ambiance in the area.
  • Choose some scented candles, rather than or in addition to the tea lights, to add some aromatherapy to the area.
  • Play some soothing music while working on your art journal pages.
  • Set out some tea and cookies (or your beverage and snack of choice) to enjoy while working on your art journal pages.

To complete this art journal prompt, you will need the following materials:

  • Art journal
  • Assorted chalks and applicator
  • Embossing medium
  • Heat gun
  • Rubber stamps
  • Markers or colored pencils (your favorite colors)
  • Stencils that reflect your interests

Follow these simple instructions for completing this mixed media art journal prompt:

  1. Set up your work area with some or all of the suggestions listed above.
  2. Set out all of your tools and open your art journal to the first blank page spread.
  3. Using the stencils and the rubber stamps, start layering images and patterns over each other on the page spread. Use the heat gun to activate the embossing medium.
  4. Use markers or colored pencils to decorate the page spread further with pictures, doodles and swirls.
  5. Using the markers or colored pencils, write out quotations about peace, harmony, tranquility, and serenity.
  6. Write out some journal entries in any blank spaces that are left on the page spread.

Questions to ask yourself when working on your journal entries:

  • What does serenity mean to you?
  • Why do you feel like there is no peace or not enough peace in your life?
  • Where would you feel the most peaceful outside of home?
  • How can you bring more peace and harmony into your home?
  • What steps do you think you need to take in order to achieve this goal?
  • Why do you think those around you feel peace if you do not?
  • Where do you think people in your life find peace and harmony?
  • How do you think your life would change if you found peace and serenity?
